Education and training
A range of vocational training and instructional courses are planned for all levels and abilities at Venture Xtreme; whether you want to do a GCSE in climbing, to learn how to take underwater photos in the dive pool, become an IRATA qualified rope access technician, gain NGB coaching status or improve your climbing technique, there will be courses to suit everyone. Venture Xtreme will also host multi-activity courses staged over days or weeks for which on-site accommodation will be offered.
Strategic links will be made with local schools, colleges and universities. Courses up to degree level will be able to be centred on Venture Xtreme’s facilities. Considerable interest is already being received from a range of further education establishments that want to link with Venture Xtreme. All on site staff will also have the opportunity to enhance their own qualifications by taking instructional and coaching qualifications in all of the different adventure sports. Rescue services and other training providers will use the facilities for a range of courses such as swift water rescue, confined space rescue, IRATA rope access qualifications etc.
Exhibitions
Venture Xtreme will have space for exhibitions and displays such as art works, environmental campaigns or new product showcases. Attracting between 5 and 6 million visitors per year, most of whom will have a definite sporty, healthy and environmentally friendly lifestyle and outlook, each Venture Xtreme Centre will offer unparalleled opportunities to reach these target groups.
Conference Centre & Corporate Hospitality
Venture Xtreme will provide corporate delegates with top class facilities all under one roof. Delegates will be able to combine their work and networking with access to the unique sports facilities or they could simply relax by sampling the leisure and shopping facilities that are on offer. One thing is for sure, they will leave with a truly memorable and rewarding experience. Smaller seminars will be hosted in a selection of conference rooms and there will be a main lecture theatre and facilities for major events involving 1,000 or more participants. It is the opportunity to sample the world’s biggest range of indoor adrenaline sports within the same complex that makes Venture Xtreme stand out in this sector.
Delegates will be met at a designated reception area and will be looked after throughout their stay by a corporate team. Whether delegates want to try climbing during a break, book a meal in the restaurant or perhaps organise a private reception in the ice bar, the corporate team will look after their every need.
Lecture Theatre & Cinema
The 1,000 seat lecture theatre and film auditorium will attract major speakers from the adventure sports world and provide a venue for specialist films. It will host events such as ‘The Best of Kendal’ (mountain film festival), major film premiers such as ‘Touching the Void’ and The Asgard Project and will welcome internationally renowned speakers such as Chris Bonnington, Leo Houlding and Doug Scott.
